What is FabLab Cuenca?
With this technological project (which has been carrying out courses, workshops, events and demonstrations in Cuenca and other locations since 2015)It mainly seeks to reduce the digital divide that exists throughout our region. In it, we teach the different processes and technologies necessary to develop projects of all kinds, and we help in the course of it, advising those people who seek to materialize their own ideas.
Abbreviations“FAB LAB” responds to the terms “LaborManufacturing Thorium”.In this spaceWe have the largest range of digital manufacturing machinery in the region(3D printers, laser cutting, digital embroidery, CNC milling machines, cutting plotters, etc…)and with a team of professionalswho are continually developing ideas and updating their knowledge to put themavailable to those who wish to use this innovative technological laboratory.
From the "Open Source" culture, based on the concept of sharing knowledge and promoting the open exchange of ideas, we intend tocreate a social and technological impact by empowering the citizens of Cuenca (and the region) through new technologies, recycling and creativity. Our objective isbecome an educational and creative tool open to all audiences,through a spirit based on collaboration, technology and shared knowledge.

Stimulating, particularly among the youngest, interest in art, science and technology. Using a different approach, oriented towards practice and shared experience, which enhances creativity and innovation.

Digital manufacturing strengthens society's ability to transform raw materials by adapting to the environment. In addition, a FabLab favors the growth of the ecosystem of entrepreneurs because it provides anyone with an innovative idea with the means to develop it and test its prototype.

Personal manufacturing allows the adaptation of the product to the needs of the demand. Digital fabrication laboratories open the way to personal fabrication and sharing among professionals, creating new relationships between people with different concerns and abilities to develop projects.

She has recently represented Spain, the main professional exchange program of Women Leaders in STEM, of the United States Department of State.International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP). In 2018 it was selected byAdvanced Leadership Foundationas one of the leaders in technological innovation
y economía circular en España para la cumbre ALF “Technological Innovation and Circular Economy.” Licenciada en Comunicación Audiovisual por la Universidad Politécnica de Valéncia. Ha trabajado como Investigadora Asociada en la Universidad de Ulster (U.K), dentro del Centro de Investigación de Sistemas Inteligentes, con el Equipo de Juegos educativos y Mundos Virtuales. Desde 2012 su experiencia se centra en Fabricación Digital y FabLabs. Delia ha sido responsable del desarrollo e implementación de numerosos proyectos de FabLab. Su trabajo siempre ha estado orientando tanto a la educación como al empoderamiento de la comunidad. Ejemplo de ello los programas “Mujeres Makers”, “STEAM TEACHER” o “FABLAB ITINERANTE”. Donde se aplican la educación STEAM y prácticas digitales para apoyar la transformación de la comunidad a través de la creatividad digital y el desarrollo de habilidades personales. Su experiencia siempre ha estado enfocada a las nuevas técnicas de aprendizaje a través de las nuevas tecnologías y cómo aportar conocimientos para el beneficio de la sociedad.
Mickaël

Laboratory Technical Director and activities coordinator
Mickaël is co-founder and part of the team in Fablab Cuenca since 2015. As a technician and expert in Digital Manufacturing, he is an advisor in various design and creation projects and in various research groups. Mickaël was born in the south of France, where he initially trained as a maintenance and facilities agent. For 14 years he lived in the UK, where he studied animation techniques, music technology and other practices related to digital art. Graduated with honours in Design for Creative Practice from the University of Ulster in the UK. He was selected and studied for a year at the Bauhaus University (Weimar), Germany. During his studies, he was awarded with various prizes and recommendations. His personal aim is to convey the possibilities with digital tools and personal manufacturing techniques to the community. I am an open minded and creative person, always looking to contribute in solving old and new problems in the world.
Daniel Martínez

Designer, teacher and
laboratory technician
Diseñador con larga trayectoria en la ciudad de Cuenca. Conoce y trabaja los distintos campos profesionales relacionados con las Artes Gráficas y ha participado en múltiples proyectos centrados en la comunicación, la creatividad y la producción de material gráfico. Docente de vocación, tiene amplia experiencia en distintos tipos de formaciones, desde la más clásica impartiendo clase en un aula, hasta las más lúdica dinamizando actividades para los más peques. Su última titulación en “Docencia para el Empleo” le permite inmpartir Certificados de Profesionalidad a personas de todos los niveles y edades. Estos cursos ayudan a las y los trabajadores mejorar su actividad laboral. Participa activamente en la cultura “maker” y las artes gráficas, diseñando proyectos editoriales, es muy aficionado a temas relacionados con la Inteligencia Artificial (IA), el desarrollo de videojuegos, el Deep Learning, empleando los métodos y técnicas creativas más actuales.

Después de muchos años compaginando laboralmente el mundo de la informática con diferentes movimientos asociativos y participativos, se ha involucrado muy activamente en el movimiento y cultura Maker. Si sumamos Docente de vocación, Apasionado de las nuevas tecnologías, las comunicaciones y los juegos de mesa, tendremos como resultado a Rubén Nielfa.
Maddie Kleinschmidt
Becaria fulbright
American Space T.A.S.
Maddie Kleinschmidt está realizando un programa Fulbright donde trabaja con American Space Quixote y FabLab Cuenca. Creció en Alaska y se graduó con honores en Negocios Internacionales de la Universidad West Texas A&M. Durante su estancia en la universidad, Maddie participó en varios pasantías, incluyendo trabajando para el Departamento de Estado de EE.UU. y la Oficina de Asuntos Públicos de la Embajada de los EE.UU. en Colombo, Sri Lanka. Después de graduarse, Maddie trabajó en el gobierno de los Estados Unidos para el Comité de Seguridad Nacional. Aparte de estas experiencias, a Maddie le gusta ayudar a su comunidad y construir conexiones internacionales. Después de su Fulbright, espera seguir trabajando en diplomacia pública y relaciones internacionales. En su tiempo libre, Maddie disfruta mucho hacer actividades al aire libre, probar cosas nuevas y pasar tiempo con sus amigos y familia.
FabLab Cuenca, al estar involucrado en diferentes proyectos y actividades, busca crear un grupo multidisciplinar de profesionales que den respuesta a los nuevos retos que nos plantea el futuro.
