ABOUT THE PROJECT
What are we mapping?
Every space has an invisible layer — the hum of a fluorescent light, the unpredictability of a crowd, the smell of a workshop at full capacity. For neurodivergent people, these invisible features of a space can determine whether they feel welcome, overwhelmed, or excluded.
Over the next two years, we will be creating sensory maps, co-designing inclusive solutions, and sharing open tools that any cultural or educational space can adopt.

How the project works
Mapping sensory experience
Artist residencies and citizen sensing methods reveal invisible barriers in schools, museums, and maker spaces.
Co-creation & making
Neurodivergent participants - especially women and girls - become designers and makers, not just subjects of study.
Open resources
Sensory maps, including design tools, and educational materials are published openly for any partner or community to reuse.

PROJECT PHASES
Timeline
PHASE 1 - 2026
Research & sensory mapping
Surveying participants, documenting sensory experiences in partner spaces, and establishing shared methodologies across all three countries.
PHASE 2 - 2027
Artist residencies & co-creation workshops
Neurodivergent artists and makers develop inclusive solutions. FabLab Cuenca hosts hands-on workshops using digital fabrication tools.
PHASE 3 - 2028
Exhibitions, open resources & dissemination
Collaborative exhibitions in all three partner countries. Publication of open sensory maps, design tools, and educational guides for wide reuse.
